The Public Affairs Council (PAC) shall serve as consultants to the Board of Governors (BOG) to assist the
Florida
Section of the American Water Works Association (FSAWWA) to enhance awareness regarding the
water industry
and the expertise that FSAWWA provides in the stewardship of Florida's water resources by: |

- Developing and implementing a marketing/communications plan in coordination with
collaborative
partnerships with all stakeholders.
- Developing and maintaining effective relationships with the public, media outlets, and
government
officials/liaisons.
- Developing
and implementing educational outreach programs.

The Council is responsible for the establishment, coordination and direction of committees relating to public
information
and public relations functions, or as assigned by the BOG. Some of the goals and objectives of the
PAC for 2008 are outlined below.

2008 General Goals & Objectives

Define organizational structure to align with FSAWWA Strategic Goal #1 and fill positions
Review strategic goals and objectives and develop 5 year marketing plan
Work with new hosting service, Affiniscape, to transition website
Help to promote Legislative Day in Tallahassee

2008 is going to be another growing year for the PAC. We have redefined our mission and our objectives to align
with the FSAWWA Strategic Goal - Make the value of FSAWWA visible. The PAC is undertaking a massive initiative similar to the one the Technical & Education Council pursued three years ago. By redefining what we are and aligning ourselves with the strategic goals of the Section, the PAC will remain solidly functional and capable of handling the Section's current and future public affairs needs. |
